Command and Control Centre (CCC)

Overview of Project

The key to having a sustainable, integrated & inclusive city transformations is to have ‘Participatory-Governance’ through cross-departmental collaboration and support. Command and Control Center (CCC) is one of the core initiatives under the Dahod Smart City since it plays a pivotal role in seamlessly synthesizing various departments’ data & dissemination of predictive & real-time analytics leveraging Internet of Things (IoT) & Big Data management. Taking inspiration from the Rio de Janeiro’s Centro de Operacoes (Operational Control Centre), this has become a central project in smart city plans throughout the country. Rio has elicited widespread private participation, especially from tech giant IBM to bring this system online, which is being emulated elsewhere too.

Some of the projects to be taken up include the integration of traffic management, disaster management and e-governance under one roof which will create greater efficiency. Other projects like the smart signalling, intelligent transport system, disaster management, parking management system and city surveillance will be connected on the single-platform established in the CCC. Additionally, the mapping of underground utilities can further assist the construction of a real-time three-dimensional map of various networks in the city.

Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS)

With the Government of Dahod focusing on upgrading the Dahod road network, to improve road users’ safety and security, it is vital to have a traffic management system in place to monitor various connected roadways. It becomes an absolute necessity to monitor incidents proactively and take preemptive actions, which should be quick using modern technologies to minimize the effects of unavoidable disasters.

ITMS will be a platform integrating a number of traffic management and enforcement systems like road surveillance, smart signalling and parking management system, created by CSCL along with the Greater Dahod Traffic Police to be able to effectively collate and coordinate information, facilitating more rapid reaction to traffic problem in the city. Dahod is all set to get an ‘intelligent transportation system’ covering at least 150 junctions with financial assistance from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Disaster Management System

In the event of a disaster, cross-departmental collaboration and support is the key to mitigating negative impacts on the functioning of the city and minimising the loss of lives. Through the disaster management system in the CCC, Dahod Smart City Limited (DSCL) is hoping to create a platform to promote better coordination and communication to effectively counter the disaster.
