Street Light Monitoring
About the Project
In an attempt to reduce the necessary manpower and electricity expenses associated with street lighting today, GCC plans to install automated smart street lights. They will turn on/off by themselves either by timer or through sensors that measure light conditions. In the first phase, a total of 207 pillar boxes will be installed in Zones 9, 10 and 13 – as Area Based Development – to remotely communicate with every individual light and test the effectiveness of the system in reducing consumption. Information about lamp voltage, energy consumption, status, run-time and life cycle will also be sent back to the CCC through a cloud-based platform. In case of any problem, rectification measures can be ordered directly from the CCC.
